Art Explorers will learn the process of creating their own comic book—from storyboarding their ideas, to binding their book, and finally bringing each page to life with bold outlines and color.
Art Explorers: Family Open Studio
Looking for a space where you, your family, and even friends can have fun with art and creativity? Drop in at our Art Explorers: Family Open Studio! Explore an array of art materials, such as paint, oil pastels, and recycled materials. Let your creative imagination run wild! (An adult must attend with at least one child, and children must attend with an adult.)
Youth Wheel Throwing
Young potters will learn the basic techniques of wheel throwing, learning to produce basic projects while becoming familiar with clay techniques and vocabulary. Over the course of 5-weeks, students will have the opportunity to learn about the entire ceramic process – from shaping the clay, to glazing and kiln firing. This is an introductory wheel class, designed for students unfamiliar with wheel throwing. (Materials included)
Weaving for All Ages
An individualized weaving class for all ages and skill levels. Beginners learn to produce simple weaving projects while becoming familiar with basic weaving terminology and techniques. More experienced students will work at perfecting their technique, using more complex looms and patterns with less step-by-step direction. Since there are many items to be made, classes may be taken more than once. (Materials included)
Art Explorers: Sketchbook Stars
Art explorers will learn how to make and develop their own sketchbook in this hour-long weekly workshop! They will have the opportunity to explore an array of art materials, such as stamps, oil pastels, and recycled materials, available in our Community Art Studio.
Art Explorers: Creative Clay for Kids
Get your hands dirty in this fun and creative weekly clay class! Over the course of 5-weeks, young artists will explore various clay techniques to bring their unique clay creations to life. Young artists will have the opportunity to learn about the entire clay process, from shaping the clay, to glazing and kiln firing. As they learn about the clay process, they will be amazed at how their final pieces turn out! This class can be taken multiple times as no two classes are alike.
